Does the speaker fee include travel?
Typically, it does not. Speaker fees that we quote you are exclusive of tax, airfare, ground expenses and a per diem. You will be responsible for booking and paying for the Speaker’s hotel room, since you will likely have access to better rates than us. We will assist you in booking the Speaker’s travel and other logistical items.
Can I record the Speaker’s presentation?
It’s a case-by-case situation. Some speakers do not allow recording because of the proprietary and sensitive nature of their material, others don’t care at all. Just ask us well in advance and we’ll try to accommodate.
Can my speaker stay for a dinner or reception?
Some speakers enjoy eating with clients, others like to use the time to prepare for their presentation. The key is to ask us well in advance and submit a complete timetable in your firm offer. If you articulate all the extras that you want beyond the keynote in advance, there’s a good chance we can build it into the agreement.
When do I have to pay?
A 50 percent deposit is due within 30 days of the contract being issued. The remaining 50 percent is due no later than 30 days before the event. We accept cheques, wire transfer, Paypal, Credit Card. Please note that we often bill a “GAP estimate” which stands for “Ground Transportation, Airfare and Per Diem” in advance of the event. If either of those items end up costing more than the estimate, we will refund you the difference.
Will the Speaker do media in promotion of the event?
Again, if you ask this up front, the Speaker is more than likely to agree. Closer to the event, it is less likely.
Can I talk to the Speaker before the event?
We pledge that no later than two weeks before your event, you will get a chance to speak with either the Speaker or a representative of the Speaker.
Will the Speaker participate in a Q & A?
Most Speakers are happy to have a Q & A after their speech, but please ask in advance.
What if my Speaker cancels?
On occasion, emergencies force a Speaker to cancel. In this instance, we will do everything we can to reschedule a mutually acceptable new date or find you an acceptable replacement speaker. If a new date doesn’t work for you and we can’t find a suitable replacement, you will be refunded 100 percent of your money.
What if I want a Speaker you don’t represent or list on your site?
Quite often, you can still book that Speaker through us as we have many bureau and agency partners across the world. If that’s not possible, we will be sure to introduce you to directly to the Speaker or the person who represents the Speaker.
