Creator, executive producer and co-host of “EP Daily” and “Reviews on the Run”, Victor Lucas is a television and new media pioneer. His first original TV series, “The Electric Playground,” hit the airwaves in 1997 and is now a daily TV series seen coast to coast in syndication and on national cable in Canada and the US. “Reviews on the Run,” a spin off from EP, debuted in 2002 and is now also a daily series in syndication and cable in Canada. Both daily programs focus on the latest innovations and content from the worlds of videogames, entertainment and technology.
In conjunction with the daily broadcast reporting on “EP Daily” and “Reviews on the Run,” Victor’s properties have maintained an extremely large ancillary branded presence on the web since 1995. Elecplay.com which launched in the Spring of 1995, is one of the world’s longest running and most respected videogame focused sites. Over the years as Victor’s content and focus has expanded, his URL list has grown. EPDaily.tv and ReviewsOnTheRun.com represent the online destinations for his TV shows, while new brands, EPLive.tv and VicsBasement.com represent forays into alternative digital streaming and broadcasting. Additionally in recent months, EP content has expanded to radio, live event and print partnerships, so in an effort to simplify access to the great wealth of material Victor and his team creates every day, a brand new all-encompassing brand has been launched: EPN.tv
Victor is also the creator and executive producer of one of the world’s first High Definition videogame TV series, “The Art of Play” for Gameplay HD and the creator, executive producer and host of the Emmy-winning, “GameTap News,” for Turner’s GameTap network. Additionally, Victor, through his Vancouver-based company, EP Media Ltd., was the executive producer of two technology-based programs produced for G4 Canada: “The Lab with Leo Laporte” and “Torrent.”
Victor also executive produces, directs and narrates documentaries through his company’s documentary division and has worked with numerous partners over the years including Discovery Communications, Activision, Sega, Sony, Kojima Productions, Bethesda, Disney and Warner Brothers. Previous documentary projects include, “The Making of Metal Gear Solid 4,” “Awakening The Giants: The Making of Turok,” “The Vault-Tec Files: The Making of Fallout 3,” “The Making of Batman Arkham Asylum,” “The Making of Iron Man,” and “The Making of The Incredible Hulk.”
Victor is also the co-founder and co-owner of The Canadian Videogame Awards, which launched in 2010 and is a regular guest, speaker, moderator and host for a variety of events throughout the year. Victor has been with his beautiful partner Marcy for more than 22 years and together they are proud parents of a lovely young daughter. Victor has a love/hate relationship with his cat, Clyde, who once gave him cat scratch fever. No joke.
